My Approach

My approach has been greatly influenced by somatic-relational psychotherapy, movement practices, energy healing, and yoga. At the core of all tension, stress, and anxiety lies the sympathetic nervous system branch, which governs the body’s fight or flight response. Additionally, persistent dysregulation within this system may result in physical and emotional symptoms, affecting overall well-being and functioning.

As a somatic therapist and intuitive healer, my primary intention is to help individuals feel better and empower them to explore the profound benefits of mind-body healing. Drawing from my experience, I understand that somatic symptoms such as muscular tension and pain are intricately linked to psycho-emotional and spiritual aspects of the self. Furthermore, the depth of each session is guided by the individual’s intention and unique healing focus. Additionally, I blend clinical expertise with intuitive understanding to alleviate symptom discomfort, while also offering a grounded, nurturing space for relaxation, stress relief, and emotional-spiritual balance.

Somatic Healing

The field of professional massage therapy, bodywork, and somatic healing has expanded to include a large variety of healing modalities. Over the last 25 years, I have studied and become certified in various techniques including: Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular Therapy, Somatically-informed Swedish Massage, Energy Healing, Cranial Sacral Therapy (Upledger Institute), and Myofascial Release (John Barnes, PT). Each modality offers unique therapeutic benefits and can be tailored to meet the individual’s specific needs. Swedish Massage is deeply relaxing and rejuvenating. It combines nurturing touch with a variety of therapeutic somatic massage techniques to create a luxurious and calming massage experience. In addition to relieving muscle tension and addressing various symptoms, this modality promotes circulation, lymphatic movement, and reduction of cortisol (the stress hormone). Swedish Massage can be seamlessly integrated into other modalities or enjoyed on its own for an exceptionally healing experience.

Often referred to as ‘Bodywork,’ Deep Tissue Massage encompasses a diverse range of techniques, including Neuromuscular and Trigger Point Therapy, aimed at alleviating or mitigating various musculoskeletal symptoms. Deep Tissue focuses on the soft tissues of the body to aid in injury rehabilitation, pain relief, and to promote an overall sense of spaciousness. While pressure typically ranges from medium to firm, it can be customized to suit individual needs. Contrary to popular belief, deep bodywork does not need to be excruciatingly painful. While pressure may cause discomfort based on the severity of an individual’s somatic symptoms, my approach emphasizes breath and mindfulness to foster whole-body integration.

These techniques, coupled with Neuromuscular Therapy, contribute to the reduction and elimination of chronic pain and other symptoms associated with long-term somatic holding patterns or injury. By applying concentrated pressure to key areas prone to muscle tightness and restricted range of motion, deep bodywork facilitates tension release and create space within the body. Additionally, gentle limb articulation, muscle activation, and resistance-based techniques further enhance the efficacy of the session.

Cranial Sacral Therapy (also known as CranioSacral and CST) is a gentle somatic healing approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance. It was pioneered and developed by Osteopathic Physician John E. Upledger after years of clinical testing and research at Michigan State University, where he served as professor of biomechanics. Using a soft touch, practitioners release restrictions in the soft tissues that surround the central nervous system. CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and it’s effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction. Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective technique that involves applying sustained pressure into myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. The practitioner applies techniques very slowly and does not use oil. The slow “time element” has to do with the viscous flow and the piezoelectric phenomenon: a low load of gentle pressure is applied slowly which allows the viscoelastic medium (fascia) to elongate. Trauma, inflammatory responses, and/or surgical procedures create Myofascial restrictions that can produce pressure and painful symptoms. Myofascial Release therapists use a multitude of techniques and movement therapy to relieve symptoms and fascial strain. After a MFR session, clients report feeling much more spacious, elongated, peaceful, and stretched out. Flexibility and postural awareness is also improved with regular treatment. Myofasical release was developed by John Barnes, P.T. More information can be found at

The Energy Healing work I offer is deeply spiritual and intuitively guided, transcending any set pattern or modality. While other bodywork modalities may complement and support energy healing, each session is a unique, personalized journey directly aligned with the client’s healing intention. Energy healing facilitates relaxation, regulation of the nervous system, and fosters a sacred space for profound spiritual healing to unfold. Rooted in intuitive guidance and spiritual connection, each session is an opportunity for clients to embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery and healing.

Accupressure, also know as Jin Shin Do, promotes a pleasant, trancelike state, in which one can relax and move into their body to access feelings and inner wisdom. This modality helps release body armoring (tense psychosomatic holding patterns) and chronic tension, balances “Qi” (energy), and improves vitality. Accupressure involves gentle, yet deep finger pressure on specific acu-points along the body. Generally, a local point in a tense area is held together with related distal points to help the tense area release. This clothes-on method helps relieve stress, muscle tension, and trauma related problems. Accupressure is a synthesis of a traditional Japanese acupressure technique, classic Chinese acupressure theory, Taoist philosophy, Reichian segmental theory, Ericksonian psychotherapy, and breathing techniques.
